Are you working on your 2026 Volunteer Appreciation Event and want to do it with collegial support? Are you trying to enact new ideas due to changing volunteer circumstances?  Join a small group of your peers for a deep dive into effective volunteer managing in today's climate and receive support & collaboration on a Volunteer Program Plan you want to implement.  The 4-week virtual Working Group examines the changes in the nonprofit sector affecting volunteerism, challenges in creating an organizational culture that supports and maximizes the value of volunteers, and the skills needed to effect change.

You will each leave with a relevant project directly related to your current needs. Past participants have completed their Volunteer Appreciation plans, revised recruitment & engagement strategies for virtual world, researched databases, updated volunteer handbooks, and created volunteer exit interview process. You can select any project that is relevant for you and get the support you need to create and implement it effectively.

During the session, cohort partners will provide feedback and support. All sessions feature a high degree of participant interaction, hands-on activities, and tools and resources that can be applied immediately.

This specialized program offers in-depth professional development in a unique networking environment that supports peer learning. Topics include:

• Engagement and supervision
  
• Understanding the unique nature of volunteerism
• Measuring outcomes
  

Even if you have previously taken the Volunteer Manager Learning Group, this Working Group can be valuable as you create and implement your 2025 Volunteer Plan. The focus on working through your own plan in a collaborative setting allows you to participate yearly if you'd like.

Earn 10 CEUs for Certified Volunteer Administrator (CVA) from the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration.
